This is the recording of the Kyrie, can you imagine what the Gloria will sound like?

Sinopsis

Join the second chapter of the Eternal Unity Mass movement! This project is undoubtedly the grandest and most meaningful endeavor of my life, and I extend a warm invitation for you to be a part of it. In my mission to unite people through singing, I decided to use almost 10% of my time on earth to provide a unique experience. Over the coming years, I will compose one Mass movement annually, with each piece standing as a consortium. By 2030, our journey will be complete, having united over 50 choirs in this thrilling adventure.

Where does this masterpiece stand now? As of June 2023, I’ve penned the Kyrie, with its premiere imminent. Several choirs have coordinated to present a concert in Florida come March 2024. And now, registration for participation in the second movement is open. Starting July 2024, I’ll be writing this next Movement. With only 3 spots available for this movement, can you envision yourself becoming a part of this remarkable journey?

The “Eternal Unity” Mass

The “Eternal Unity” Mass is a visionary project that illustrates the extraordinary beauty and wonders that emerge when humanity unites its efforts over time to achieve a common goal. This Mass is being composed movement by movement, with each year bringing a new addition to the work, and it is set to be completed by 2030. The project is built on the belief in the power of teamwork and long-term thinking, promoting the idea that when we come together, we are capable of creating something truly remarkable.

The Mass is developed through a consortium model, where choirs from around the world collaborate by joining each movement’s creation. This system allows participating choirs to be directly involved in the premiere and performance of each movement, fostering a sense of global unity and shared purpose. By the time the mass is completed, over 50 choirs from different cultures and backgrounds will have contributed to its creation, each adding their unique voice to the collective harmony.

This approach resonates deeply with the core message of the “Eternal Unity” Mass—that unity, sustained over time, can bring about profound beauty and lasting impact. The project encourages participants to think beyond the immediate, to invest in a shared future, and to work together towards a common artistic and humanistic goal.

The Gloria Movement

The Gloria movement of the “Eternal Unity” Mass is designed to plant seeds of hope and raise awareness about the possibility of unity under a shared roof. Reflecting the complexities of today’s world, the piece begins in darkness, both literally and metaphorically, with sounds and rhythms that evoke the chaos of war and polarization.

Initially, each section of the choir sings “gloria” from a polarized perspective, representing the fragmentation and isolation that often characterize our differences. As the piece unfolds, the voices begin to intertwine, and the music gradually transitions toward harmony, symbolizing the path to unity. The process of crystallizing harmony suggests that the hope for glory and world peace can emerge when individual wills unite for a common purpose.

However, the Gloria concludes with an open ending, inviting reflection on whether human unity is truly possible. This ending is intended to provoke thought, emphasizing that achieving such unity depends on our collective efforts to bridge divides and work together for a better future.

The Gloria lasts for 8 minutes, using music not only to tell a story but also to leave a lasting impression, encouraging listeners to reflect on their role in the pursuit of unity and peace.
